Maybe you have seen the name "Grumpy Husband" on my Facebook page or casually mentioned in one of my blog posts. But now that he's been around for a little while I thought that it was finally time for a proper introduction.
To start with, Grumpy Husband is actually my husband. We've been married for almost nine years. With my sunny disposition and his rain-cloud attitude I guess opposites really do attract!
The nickname actually started as a little joke between us. He does most of the photography for my crafts and outfits and I do most of the modeling, but sometimes I wanted a guy to model the items instead. Whenever we switched places though and he plopped down in front of the camera no matter how hard we both worked he always just looked like he was having the WORST time of it. In the comment sections of the few photos of him that made it online the word "grumpy" started getting thrown around (totally probably not by me). With his grouchy face and cynicism (to say nothing for his propensity to frighten small children) the name stuck pretty quickly.
Now does that mean that Grumpy Husband is actually grumpy? Well I guess that all depends on your perspective. He has a grumpy beard, and he certainly doesn't say much to people he doesn't know. But whenever we go out for a photo shoot he always takes as many photos as we need with patience and sensitivity for the model (it's not easy standing in front of a lens sometimes). And best of all he thinks this whole "Grumpy Husband" thing is hysterical. You have to love a guy who can laugh at himself.
So what does this introduction even mean anyway? What does it matter who this Grumpy Husband is? Well chances are if you have written me a message through my Etsy shop you have already encountered him. Besides taking most of my photos recently he has stepped into the role of my PR man. He helps write e-mails, responds to messages from customers, and keeps up allot of my social media stuff. And he just started his own Facebook page too! If you want to know a little more about the Grumpy man behind the camera you should go and check it out.
In parting, here is a comic made by Grumpy Husband of his first day as my PR man answering customer questions and generally making the world a grumpier place! (Click the images to enlarge.)
